ADDING HIGHLIGHTS ON INSTAGRAM LIKE A PRO

Instagram stories are brief picture and video posts that feature in the story feed for up to 24 hours in full screen, slideshow style. If you wish to keep a specific story available for longer than the 24-period period, you can add it to your profile as Instagram Story Highlights before you plan to delete it.

On Instagram, what are the highlights?

Highlights are simply stories for an undefined amount of time that you pin to the top of your Instagram profile. For 24 hours, any story you share will appear in your followers' feeds, then vanish immediately.

When you add a story to your highlights, though, anybody who visits your profile could see it above your main feed as a circle symbol, but after it disappears from their main story feed.

There is no need for highlights to include just one story and it can be a series of stories. You may add up to 100 stories with photos or images to a single highlight. The number of highlights you can add to your profile is also infinite.

It stays there forever until you manually delete a highlight from your profile. Much like daily stories, you will see who has seen the highlights.

Your highlights can also be viewed by any users you have allowed to access your posts, ensuring even if your Instagram profile is not private, everyone can see your stories as well as your highlights. Navigate to your profile to configure your story privacy settings, tap the menu icon on the right, tap Settings > Privacy > Story, then tap Hide Story You don't want to see your stories from picking followers.

Why Use Highlights from Instagram?

Highlights are perfect for content that you want to hold for more than 24 hours but do not follow the limits of regular photo and video updates (such as the need to crop them).

They are also suitable for scenarios with casual content where you don't exactly want to draw likes and feedback.

It is great for your profile to showcase stories that catch unforgettable memories or mean something to you. Anyone who visits your profile can see your highlights and get a taste of your favorite stories by clicking them.

There are two key ways that a highlight can be created:

· By viewing your story archive through your profile.

· From the latest live narratives (within 24 hours of it being posted).

You can view profile highlights through Instagram.com, but you can't share them on the web.

For iOS and Android, the following guide will teach you how to upload highlights with the Instagram app. For the iOS edition, snapshots are offered, but Android users may follow along with a near-identical app.

From your profile, how to upload Instagram highlights?

A highlight can be shared conveniently from your Instagram profile. The highlight will appear on your profile after it has been posted.

i. On the Instagram screen, from the bottom menu, press the profile button.

ii. Above your grid of messages, press the Story Highlights mark.

iii. To apply a checkmark to any you wish to use in a single highlight, press the circle at the bottom of one or more stories.

Don't you see any stories you have already written here? You would need to authorize the story to be archived. To do this, in the top-right corner of your profile, tap the menu icon, then tap Settings > Privacy > Story. Make sure the Save to Archive is turned on under Save so that it remains blue.

When you have picked the stories, you would like to add to a single spotlight, press Next.

Alternatively, by inserting something in the field below the cover, tap Edit Cover and name the Highlight to customize the cover image. If you do not rename it, by default, the name would appear as "Highlights."

In the upper-right, tap Add. On your account, it should appear.

How to share a spotlight on Instagram From Your Stories?

You will add an article to your highlights as a new story is written. After it has already been written, this takes the extra step away from showcasing the article.

i. Tap Your Story in the Stories feed on your Home tab, tap your profile picture on your profile, or swipe right from the home tab to begin writing a new story.

ii. Tap Your Story in the Stories feed on your Home tab, tap your profile picture on your profile, or swipe right from the home tab to begin writing a new story.

iii. To upload an uploaded photo or video, press the white button at the bottom to catch the story or the photo/video sample thumbnail on the bottom left.

iv. Tap the highlight button on the bottom right of the preview of your story.

v. Enter the optional name you want to highlight, then tap Connect.

vi. To see it on your profile, tap Display on Profile, or tap Done.

How to Edit or Delete a Spotlight on Instagram

Editing your story allows you the chance to change the picture of the cover to a personalized one and add more stories if appropriate. Since highlights stay forever on your profile, until they are no longer appropriate, you may want to know how to delete them.

i. To edit a current highlight on your profile, tap Highlight to open it, then in the bottom-right corner, tap the three 'More' dots.

ii. Tap Highlight Edit.

iii. To pick a new image from your computer as a cover image, tap Edit Cover, rename the Highlight in the Name area, and tap Archive to add additional stories from your archive.

iv. To edit your highlights, tap Done.

v. "More"

vi. From Highlight, tap Delete.

vii. To test it, tap Delete once again.
